Driver Coaching - Why is it so important?
Ryan Cannon coaching our Honda Cadet Champion
Many karting families spend serious amounts of money in securing the newest chassis, the fastest engines and the best looking accessories they can in the hope that this might inspire their budding young driver to victory. Unfortunately they soon find out it's not just about having the correct equipment, they have overlooked the most important person in the whole experience, the driver. You can spend every day on the track practising and getting slightly better but to be a top competing driver you need someone with a professionaly trained eye to assist in the process. Under Andy or Ryan's keen gaze they can tell your driver the correct way to sit in the kart to maximise performance, the correct entrance and exit on corners, the right time to attack or defend and when to sit and push, this is called Race Craft and is generally something which does not come naturally to most drivers.
Our advice to any parent wishing to start with Clan Racing Team is to save their money and seek some early driver coaching, have their driver's needs assessed, whether it be a half day or a full day session our instructors will give you guidance on improving your driver's performance on and off the track. With so many Champions under one roof the formula clearly works, come along and speak to one of our top driver's, let them tell their own story.
